Day Tripper tickets now available. Book below to join us on Saturday 12 May. Highlights include: traditional & alternative shabbat services with Shir Chadash’s David Altman; starting a Jewish Community in Cayman, from the man who did it; the fabulous Frank Vigon; the Great Jewish Bake-Off; Menorah’s own Rabbi Fabian; Israeli dancing; picnic; Manchester Jewish eateries of the past; and the Heights of Abraham. All this as well as a full children’s programme, and stay the evening for Jewish Comedian of the Year, Philip Simon.
After over 100 Weekenders had a wonderful adventure last year, we are returning to the glorious Hartington Hall in the Peak District on 11-13 May 2018 for this year’s Community get-together.
Families are strongly welcome and encouraged, and this year it’s kids (under 13) go free again. To encourage everyone to book, it’s first-come, first-served on the rooms (you’ll get the choice as soon as you book). Click here for more details and watch the video.
Headlining Saturday night is award-winning comic Philip Simon (http://www.philipsimon.co.uk), who is also doing comedy workshops, if you ever fancied taking to the stage yourself. Jewish comedy will be a theme throughout, alongside a long and strong list of speakers, sessions, services and fun activities of all sorts in a packed but varied programme. And, yes, the Great Jewish Bake-Off is back, as well as added time to gather and chat in beautiful surroundings. Hopefully, we’ll even get some sun.
The all-inclusive price is £159 per person, excellent value for 2 days and 2 nights in a fabulous venue, with all food and activities paid for. It’s £119 for those who really can’t afford it, and because as a community we don’t want to exclude anyone, there’s a subsidised price of £69 too. In any event, PLEASE COME! Day trips and staying outside the venue are also possible: email . Same address if you’re interested in helping organise something or for information.
