Have you always wondered about researching your family history but didn’t know how to start?
ARK is delighted to welcome representatives from the Manchester Regional group of Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain (JGSGB) who will introduce the topic of researching your family tree. If you have any specific questions you would like to ask, please send them to Judy in advance at or, alternatively, bring any information or questions with you and we will work in small groups together to get started on this fascinating journey.
The session will include:
⦁ A short powerpoint presentation of some of the basics of family genealogical research.
⦁ Q & A session related to the basics or other points you would like to raise. For example, what about confidentiality or the “skeleton in the cupboard”?
⦁ Bring your own data and access our databases and library books.
⦁ We will work in small groups as you find those elusive ancestors (or not).
Tea, coffee and bagels from 10.30 am.
