Our next walk will be exploring the Sandstone Trail ridge area around Raw Head in Cheshire.
The walk is about 6-7 miles with a little “up and down” along well used paths and tracks.
On a clear day there are magnificent views from the Sandstone ridge into Wales, the Cheshire plain and to Merseyside.
Please wear walking boots as the ground may be muddy or icy.
Because of the time of year, we plan to stop for lunch in a pub rather than have a packed lunch.
This is a “figure of 8” walk and there will be the option to cut down the walk to about 4 miles for those who want a shorter option (and don’t want to visit the pub).
Meet at the top of Coppermine Lane where you can park on the left hand side of the road.

If you are coming from the Manchester area, you will need to take the A49 South from the M56 or A556 and then turn right onto the A534 towards Wrexham.
3km or so from this junction you will pass the Bickerton Poacher pub on your left (postcode SY14 8BE). Turn right onto Coppermine Lane half a km further on. Take care up the road as it is narrow.
Continue up the hill on this road for about 1km until you see the cars parked at the end of the road (stop before you get to the “Sandstone Trail” sign).
Do let us know if you plan to attend by emailing .
