A 4-week course, Exploring Truth, with ‘OY’, the Open Yeshiva, run by Menorah and Manchester Reform Synagogue (Jackson’s Row) and facilitated by Rabbi Robyn Ashworth-Steen and Rabbi Fabian Sborovsky.
Join us for guided small group study, discussion and even argument (of the Hillel versus Shammai variety!) on the topic of ‘Truth’. We will range through traditional and modern texts and discuss their relevance today, where the issue of truth is certainly topical.
Study materials and light refreshments will be provided. You just need to come with an enquiring mind and a desire to participate. There is no need to be able to read Hebrew, though those who can do so will be able to enhance their skills.
Runs 7.30 pm – 9.30 pm on 16 October, 23 October, 30 October, 13 November.
Venue: Elizabeth Gaskell House 84 Plymouth Grove, Manchester, M13 9LW. This is an attractive venue, in the heart of what used to be a Jewish area in the mid-nineteenth century. There is plenty of free parking in adjoining streets and some spaces in the grounds for those with a need for easy access. Inside the house there is a lift and all the facilities we will use are on one floor.
Charge: £20 for four sessions or £5 per session, including refreshments, payable at the door. Please contact your synagogue if you need to discuss financial assistance. We advise early booking. For enquiries or to book your place, please email Sherry at or ring Jackson’s Row Administrator Mandy on 0161 834 0415.
