For all who love – or would like to learn to love – opera.
In normal times we have been meeting once a month, to focus on one particular opera under the expert guidance of Joyce Kennedy.
Joyce, who combined her career as a GP and anaesthetist with raising three children and writing two acclaimed books on opera and composers, was married to the late, much missed music biographer and critic, Michael Kennedy. Joyce travelled worldwide with Michael to 90 operas every year and we are tremendously privileged that she is prepared to share her vast knowledge with us each month.
During the coronavirus pandemic Joyce has kindly offered to continue her presentations by Zoom. Please see the programme of planned events below. For the next season of six events, from January to June 2021, we are suggesting a voluntary donation of £5 per event or £30 for the season. The proceeds will be shared by Menorah Synagogue and a charity supporting music students.
